Lowering the Challenge Threshold to Launch Career Mentorship Programs in Alberta was presented at the 2021 Prairies and Northern Territories Small Centre Conference. The presentation highlights the Alberta Mentorship Program's mission to create a mentoring culture in Alberta. By providing organizations with the resources and support to create their own mentorship programs, AMP hopes to create more mentorship opportunities across the province while fostering collaboration between mentoring organizations.

Presenters: Cheryl Whitelaw, AMP Project Manager, Doug Piquette, Executive Director of Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC), and Bruce Randall, Executive Director of the Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council (CRIEC).

AAISA (Alberta Association of Immigrant Serving Agencies) in collaboration with Manso (Manitoba Association of Newcomer Serving Organizations) and SAISIA (Saskatchewan Association of Immigrant Settlement and Integration Agencies) hosted the virtual 2021 Prairies and Northern Territories Small Centre Conference from February 8-10, 2021. The 2021 conference is designed for front-line professionals and managers from settlement and integration agencies across the small centres in Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and the Northern Territories. The conference will provide settlement and integration professionals with an opportunity to build capacity, share new knowledge and expertise with peers while generating practice insights and strategies to better serve newcomers in the small centre context.
